  1. Wear your tightest dress the first night because you might have a hard time getting into it by the second night after all the great food(lol)

But I agree with the poster that for some reason the 2nd night seems dressier. Have fun!

  2. You need to walk right past the ticket booth when you get off the Summit. Line moved very quickly and there were lots of people to ask transportation questions. Everyone is so friendly in Bermuda. Something of interest; when we took the ferry over to Hamilton I didn't think to check return times back to the boat. For some reason I just assumed they were constantly running. Wrong! Make sure you check the board so you know return times, otherwise you might have a long wait between boats.

  3. Booked for a May 2015 Bermuda while onboard last year. I received free 1-2-3 beverage package as well as $250 onboard credit. We are concierge class. Celebrity is now offering to PA and NJ residents sailing to Bermuda free gratuities for May-August sailings. Can I take advantage of that additional offer if I already booked onboard without losing my other two perks? Thanks so much for your input

  4. Nine of us returned from Bermuda on the Summit on June 1 and couldn't agree more. We were worried with all the negative posts prior to our sailing and they were very wrong. Great food in MDR, no problems getting drinks promptly and the service was pefect. Goes to show.....don't listen to all the negativity on the boards lately. They just made me anxious for no reason. Celebrity did a great job

  5. Just back off Summit on June 1. This was our third time. We were also Concierge class in 8095 Great and convenient location. We found we preferred the main dining room for breakfast and the service was quick. Remember however that you need to be in dining room by nine. After that you will need buffet or room service. I had room service every morning at seven bring tea, fresh squeezed oj and fruit and enjoyed it on balcony. If you do go to the buffet for breakfast, go all the way to the back area near the Sunset Bar for delicious waffles and eggs without the crowds. Martini bar is the bar with the most action and great fun. We like sail away at the Sunset Bar in the back of boat. Grab some lunch from the buffet and a drink and relax. The pizza from the buffet is available day and night and hot and delicious. You need to have a Angus burger from the pool grill!!! We like Bistro on Five for lunch at only 7.00 with no wait and well worth the little extra. They have home made ice cream free each day at the buffet by the pool entrance. You can also ask for a bowl of candies to take back to your room to enjoy later. Free. Also free is delicious cakes and pastries at the Cafe El Baccio. Yum. I spend most of my time at the indoor solarium pool and hot tubs. No wind and no children allowed so always a great way to pass away the hours at sea. Enjoy. She is a relaxing ship

  6. We were on the Summit and returned June 1st into Bayonne, NJ. The weather was perfect for our entire trip although very rough seas returning on Friday night into Sunday morning. We did fine because we were CC midship on Deck 8. This is our third year on same ship, same week. Very few children. I think they said about 34 total. We took our DS who is 13 and our nephew who is also 13. The boys loved it!!! Counselors were great and tons of activities for them. It does take some getting used to them coming home at midnight each night!!! I think 11:00 would be better because I can't sleep until he is safely home.

We had the 1-2-3 ago package and upgraded. We NEVER had a problem getting a drink promptly. Be it at the pool, MDR or Martini bar, service was quick and friendly. I'm not sure upgrading was necessary because we were a party of nine and we went to martini bar and they received Martinis with no extra charge? Ate dinner each night in MDR. Had our Celebrity agent who we booked with tie all three rooms reservations together and he reserved a table for nine in Select dining every night at 6:00. When I got onboard I went and spoke to the a afar and asked where our table would be. He took me in and showed me several choices and I picked. Daniella (the maître de?) was the best. Each night when we arrived our table was ready and we just walked right in. Our servers were great and the person who gets drinks had them ready for us as soon as we sat down.

My only issue the whole trip would have to be the buffet. It wasn't terrible but not great either. The little food baskets drove me crazy. They had odd mixtures in them, ie; scrambled eggs with lox, wet scrambled eggs with bacon and sausage, smoked meats with baked beans!, etc. The food was lukewarm in the baskets. I would walk up to that station and request a hot basket and they would make it for me with what I wanted and it was hot. They were very pleasant. But the easiest was go to back of bait and get fresh waffles and fruits back there or eat in MDR. All in all a great trip with great friends!

  7. In Concierge class ( not sure if that matters) and want to know if I need to bring extra hangers from home or if I can ask the room steward and he can easily get them for me? I like to hang most things up because if wrinkles. Also, ate extension cords allowed? :)

  8. Morning. We are a group if nine traveling in May to Bermuda. Three if the nine are sharing veranda cabin. One if the three girls is now unable to attend due to family illness. She didn't buy insurance!! She paid the third person fare. Will get money be returned to her, none of it returned to her if will Celebrity apply the money to the cost if the cabin for the other two girls? None if them bought insurance. Thanks!!!

  9. I am usually not unkind and have never posted a response like this before. So that being said...... While reading your review I found you seemed very demanding (making the Butler sit with you while you went over the list of "your needs" point by point along with other remarks. I have sailed on the Summit several times before and going again in June and have found a kind word to the waiter in Select Dining can speed up the pace of your meal if you want it brought quicker. Also kindness to the bartenders and a small tip always gets great service. Just my opinion.

  10. The Celebrity Teen X Club. He was 12 last year and our first time on the Summit. We never saw him except at meals. The program is so diversified and small enough that all the kids had the best time together. Well this year he is 13 and we are taking his 13 year old cousin. The boys can't wait and you won't be sorry if you choose Celebrity

  11. If I book a future cruise while on board next month to take advantage of 1-2-3 promo, reduced deposits and OBC can I get home and change my mind and get completely out of the deal and my deposit money back or am I still obligated for that cruise or another cruise? Do they return my money? Thanks

  12. We did same cruise on the same weekend last year and there were probably about ten or so kids in the teen club. A lot of them were from England. Also in the younger kids club there were about 25 kids. I'm bringing my son with his cousin so in the case of limited kids, we're set. I'm glad to see Kelly has a boy the same age and two teen girls. My kids will welcome them.

  13. We traveled to Bermuda last year on the a Summit on Memorial Day holiday and are doing so again this year-May 25-June 1, 2014. My son will be 13 and in the X Club ages 12-17. We are bringing his cousin with us this year who is also 13. There were a lot of children from UK last year and some Americans and they had the BEST time...never saw him except meals. It is open 10 am til noon, 2-5 pm and then 8-midnight for teen club. There were also a fair number of younger kids in the kids club. All the counselors were the best and there was such a great number if different things to do that changed every hour. I would say all total there were probably 30-40 kids of all ages participating. Of all the cruise lines we have sailed, Celebrity's program is the best. When in May are you traveling and what ages are your kids?

  14. We are traveling with others who are NOT Captain Club members. Those of us who are Capt Club were able to make a set dining time each night for select dining in MDR but the three girls who are not Capt Club were told they could not make a reservation time "at this time". They want to sit at our table. Does anyone know why this is happening or WHEN they will be able to make the reservation? Thanks

  15. Red travel; obviously children represent a real problem for you as you really had nothing pleasant or constructive to say on this thread. Believe it or not some of us have wonderful and very well behaved children who are a delight to many people around them.

  16. We sailed last May on Celebrity Summit with our then 12 year old son. 12 is the age when the kids start in the Teen X Club. He absolutely loved it and made some great friends. It runs from 10 am- 12 noon, then 2-5, and then from 7pm until midnight. That works great because they can share meals with the family. The counselers were great and the activities varied. Dodge Ball, basketball, X Box, scavenger hunts, movies, shows, crafts, theater and swimming just to name a few things. Kept the kids really busy. I was at first concerned about the late hours at night but they were supervised, without being smothered, and the caliber of cruisers on Celebrity is high. The average age of cruisers on Celebrity is 40 plus and he never encountered any issues. There are not a ton of kids which I think makes it so much better because the whole group seems to bond. The older kids who are welcome to come (17 and up) didn't so I liked that he wasn't with older teens. We are going again this May to Bermuda and my son (13) and his 13 year old cousin can't wait. Your girls will love it!
