Thanks for your great review - already looking forward to the ship (will be on it next Monday starting out of Civitavecchia).
Do you know if individual/self disembarkation was possible at the end of the cruise?
Thank you,
Dominik- 1

Hi all,
thank you very much for your replies, this supports my impression that Anthem is likely the better choice and we will look into it.
We are from Austria (Europe) and will enjoy the short flight after the cruise 😉
Kind regards,
Dominik

Hello folks,
my wife and I are planning to do our first TA next April from NYC towards Europe but are struggling between NCL Prima and Anthem of the Seas. We are both 35 years and have done already some cruises (mostly with NCL incl 14 days in South America and Panama canal transit) but also two with Allure and Harmony of the Seas).
I’ve read already various trip reports about Prima incl. possible noisy staterooms and small venues inside that are definitely the downside, on the other hand the ship is new, the itinerary including Iceland promising and the Free at Sea package definitely much cheaper than the Deluxe beverage package of Royal Caribbean ….
Then again Anthem of the Seas offers with the Solarium a very nice indoor pool for cooler days that is definitely a big benefit compared to Prima where I expect that probably the pools can’t be used all the time during the TA.
If you like good entertainment, various food choices, the possibility to swim and some sort of action which ship would you choose for the crossing (we would be sailing in a regular balcony stateroom)?
Thank you very much and kind regards,
Dominik

Hi,
I was on the Sun (Sky‘s sister ship) for 14 days in South America and for that route it was a perfect ship as it offers a lot of public decks to enjoy the scenery. During the trip there were almost every day a lot of things to see (i.e waterfalls, fjords,..)
If you are doing a transatlantic with a lot of sea days the Sky/Sun would be too small for me as activities are more limited than on bigger ships.Kind regards,
Dominik

Hi,
for Jewel and Colon there was no time slot available during Check-In.
We arrived at Colon around 10:30 and were onboard about 12 (group 8).
Later we saw a lot of people in line waiting to board the ship so not sure if afternoon is really a better choice at Colon.... we felt that earlier was a better/quicker (at least for the 26th of January sailing)

This morning I discoverred that while the Jewel and the Gem weere passing each other, the Bliss was also crossing the Panama Canal. Wonder what the fee was in total for all three ships??
During a tour that I joined in Panama city they told us it‘s about $135 per bed for cruise ships... -

good question, i am interested to know that too
Not really - we were below La Cuccina and on 2 nights we heard tables or chairs being moved for 10-15 minutes. Other than that it was absolut silent and we enjoyed 11630 as there was no direct overhang like the midship Club balcony staterooms.

Hi Turtles,
yes, I am aware of the location, however there are several interesting sights for me along the Amador Causeway including restaurants etc.
I have already contacted the Beach House Hotel which is in that area but they do not offer luggage service for non-guests.
Kind regards,
Dominik

Hello,
after our cruise with NCL Jewel we have around 8-10 hours before our flight home (the cruise ends in Fuerto Amador). Does anybody know if there is some kind of luggage storage near the Cruise Terminal?
Thank you,
Dominik -
Thanks for your feedback, we have changed the stateroom and took 11630 which should be a better choice concerning noise level :)

Hello fellow cruisers,
I am booked in a Club Balcony on NCL Jewel (11058) on Deck 11 - based on the deckplan showers should be located straight above on Deck 12 which shouldn't be noisy at all?!
Has anyone stayed in this area?
Another option would be at the rear location (11630) below La Cucina Restaurant - do you think this would be a better option in terms of noise?
Thank you,
Dominik

The area on the upper deck is for the Haven.
But for the canal transit the ship opens the bow area usually reserved for the crew to passengers.
Thank you, that sounds really interesting. Hopefully the cew opens it for every canal cruise 🙂
Kind regards,

Hello,
I am interested in a Panamal Canal cruise and found a nice itinerary with NCL Bliss from LA to Miami. I would love to watch the transit from the forward section (public deck) but as far as I know this area is exclusive for the Haven.
Apart of a forward facing lounge is there a nice (deck) place to watch the tansit?
Many thanks and kind regards,

Hello,
thanks for your Feedback - I did some further research and found Wild Skies Car rental (got some nice ratings). They'll bring the car close to the port and price is also good (incl. additional insurance, just in case)

Hi both,

Hi all,
in January 2019 we will sail with Norwegian Sun and I'd like to know if there are any differences between both main dining rooms - Four Seasons and Seven Seas? Is one more casual than the other?
Than you,
Dominik

Hello,
has anyone of you a recommendation of a car rental company at Puerto Madryn?
Instead of going to Punta Tombo I was thinking of the short way to Punta Loma and driving around.
Thank you,
Dominik

Hello,
for 2019 I am planing a South Americam cruise with Norwegian Sun and would like to know if all standard balcony cabins have the bed near the bath or if there are also some that have it near the balcony?
Thank you,
Dominik

Hi,
this is actually what I did but for the aft section of the ship it's not 100% true.
If you have a look at this deck plan, select the Sky deck and apply this logic at the aft section the stateroom 1275 should have the bed by the bath but when you view the video it shows that the bed is by the balcony...
Would be great if anyone can share his experiences.
Kind regards,
Dominik

Hello cruisers,
we are planing to sail the first time with Reflection and would like to have a cabin with bed by the balcony. I had a look at the stateroom thread but couldn't find information about those particular cabins on the Reflection.
According to the deckplan there is a difference between Reflection and Eclipse/Equinox where i.e. 1172 has the bed by the balcony. For Reflection it seems that 1172 has the bed by the bathroom.
Following the same logic 1188 should have the bed by the balcony.
Is that correct?
Thank you for your help and kind regards,
Dominik

Dear all,
I am really excited about cruising with Harmony of the seas in October 2016. I am booked in an ocean view stateroom on Deck 3 and would love to see some pictures of that cabin category (especially where the bed is located).
I will stay in stateroom 3202, does anyone have pictures of that cabin category?
Thank you,
Dominik

Hi,
As far as I have seen there are both types: bed by balcony and bed by closet. From the deckplans it's not possible to see where the bed is located ...
Kind regards,
Dominik

We just got off the Breakaway on Sunday & yes they had chicken fingers & mozzarella sticks. My boys ate them a few times throughout the week.
Great to hear and thank you for your reply :)
