We are Pinnacle and still buy the package. With specialty coffees, mimosas for breakfast, etc.  we more than break even.   Even having the 6 drinks per day per person, I would never cruise without buying the package.  I go through at least 10 bottles of water a day alone.  Hubby drinks at least 4 specialty coffees.  And when we cruise, we like our drinks.  The package allows me to get a new beer if mine is warm, or to try something and if I don't like it, no big deal.  We don't do specialty dining (not worth it to us), excursions, suites (again, not worth it to us), etc., so the cost of the package is just part of our cruise.

Right there with you on that explanation, only we are Diamond +

Talk to be about the maple syrup.    Is it 'maple' syrup (note the quotes) that is really corn syrup flavored with maple.    Or is it genuine maple syrup that comes from a tree.

My favorite hotel breakfast is when you make your own belgium waffle (so it is fresh) and the real maple syrup I brought from home.   Yes, I travel with a plastic bottle of maple syrup.

I assume I'll want to pack that for the cruise, but if they have the real stuff I won't.

On Anthem that would be a no,they call it “pancake syrup”,this is the reason I ,too ,bring my own. I love the French toast in the MDR!

We are Diamond & always purchase the Deluxe Beverage Package.  We each average 10 to 15 drinks a day beginning w/ fresh squeezed orange juice at breakfast (we each get 2).  We figure 1 specialty coffee (w/ alcohol) mid-morning, couple drinks at lunch, drinks by the pool, cocktails, drinks w/ dinner, after dinner drinks, drinks at the show, etc. This is also the time for us to try out various cocktails and beers - French Martini, Pineapple Martini, etc. without feeling obligated to finish the drink if we don't like it.

Ditto for us, so worth it !

  4. Another one we witnessed was when we still had to tender to the port and on our way back(,it happened to be the last one) a woman was running like crazy and just made it on,when we reached the ship and scanned our sea passes alarms went off, here the woman was on the wrong ship, she was suspose to be on the Adventurer ,this was the Explorer! Fortunately for her they were able to tender her back to her ship before it left.
