  1. :):) When we were on our cruise 2 years ago, we accidently bought the Ultimate pkg vs the Premium one. I honestly don't know why I said Ultimate but I did and so glad I did:) We so enjoyed the Mimosas in the AM,the lattes in the afternoon(with or without a shot of something),able to try any new drink w/o consequence etc. Now we have purchased the Ult. Pkg. on every cruise since with no regrets:D

  2. i do not enjoy the smell either....but.......i do not go to the smoking section in the casino either. Yes, i can still smell it at times, but it does not bother me that much.

Things have changed soooo much over the past couple of years, and not that i am sticking up for the smokers, but it has gotten to the point where they have very few places to smoke now. Nk

i remember the days that you were allowed to smoke in the grocery stores, movie theaters, restaurants, bars, school...on and on. So, in comparison, i think there have been major changes and very happy with them. :) i say, let them have the one or two places on a ship...but that is just me. :) happy sunday everyone. :)

    thank you :)

  3. yup that's where we are staying this sept. and they still have the breakfast,

    .

one question tho. I'm set up for the 10;30 shuttle an I've read that its kinda crazy at pick up time. do you have any suggestions on how to avoid the craziness?

We also left at 10;30 and had no problem, the hotel took you in order according to when you signed up for, the only thing was the crowd in the lobby waiting and that wasn't even that bad.

  4. Does anyone know of a nice hotel/motel closeby where you can stay pre-cruise and leave your car and shuttle to the port?

If you want a recommendation, would recommend the Radisson. We have stayed there 3 times prior to our cruise and have never been disappointed. They have a PARK AND CRUISE pkg that includes shuttle service to and from the ship. This past January the pkg included the Breakfast Buffet.

  5. MY DW and I are only Gold members and we sailed on SOS out of New Orleans this past Mar. I recalled reading advice from another cc member to tip your room steward in advance if you wanted premium service. Granted we had the prepaid gratuities but I was willing to hand over $10 and give it a try. Our steward met us right after we got in the room and I rattled off a list of things we wanted during the cruise. Continous ice in the bucket, a foam mat under the mattress, his reply, we don't have many of those and they are probably all loaned out, I asked for robes and he said those are for higher C&A members. I asked for clean wine glasses each day and he told me I could call room service. I'm thinking OK I got a wise guy here but here goes, so I gave him $10. He had a very surprised look on his face and said "Sir, I'll be right back". Within 15 minutes he brought 2 robes, the foam insert and wine glasses then he almost ran to get us ice and was back in record time. The rest of the cruise, he knocked himself out giving us premium room service. It was the best $10 I ever spent.

DH and I do the same, and you are right best 10.00 we ever spent.:)

  6. Just and FYI, my son had his credit card compromised, either while checking in for our Explorer OTS cruise, or when making purchases in Cozumel. It is suspected that it happened while checking in for the Explorer for the following reasons:

    1. There were 2 charges to the card from RCCL on our disembarkation date. One was for his charges (matches his bill), the other was for $233.00 which he has NO IDEA what they are for. We don't know if it was for someone else's account or what, but I'm sure we'll find out, as we disputed the charges.

    2. There were 4 VERY LARGE gas purchases (ranging from $100-$125 each) made on 1/9 (our disembarkation date), 1/10 and 2 on 1/11. They were made in West Palm Beach (2) and Lake Worth (2)

The card has since been cancelled, but I just wanted to warn everyone to be extra cautious of their credit cards, especially in Port Canaveral, as we do not know how the card was compromised.[

First, let me say sorry for the trouble,we had our credit card compromised and it is very scary. When I called the CC co, for our upcoming trip, the man I talked to said not to use your card at the gaspump, he said these are infamous for cloning devices, he said go inside to pay. Again sorry for your son's situation,I know how he feels !

  7. I thought I was pretty clear with my request, and I was sure she knew what I was talking about. I hate to sound mean but we had more problems with our stewart this trip . We never had any problems before, I guess I was spoiled before. As for the Complimentary dinner,I never looked at certificate, wouldn't know where to look,TA never sent me one ,only that it was part of our ammenities for booking with them

  8. Just back from the Explorer of the Seas, and as Diamond members we always received robes in the room. Of course, this time I didn't pack my own, when I asked our attendent when they would be delivered,I was told I had to request robes before we boarded :eek:Does anyone know if this true,or did we have a misinformed stewart? Now for the "did you know" we went to Portofinos with the "free" dinner ,compliments of our TA, we were told RCCL would only honor this ammenity on port days only:eek: I already e-mailed my TA, but I was alittle taken back with this info !!!!
