david2673 Posted December 8, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 8, 2004 Hello all, My wife and I just booked on the QM2 for Feb 5, 2005. Just curious as to who else may be on that sailing? By the way we are in our early thirties.
gentlemancruiser Posted December 9, 2004 #2 Share Posted December 9, 2004 My partner and I will be travelling with my Aunt and her Neice. This will be our 2nd QM2 cruise, we were on the Maiden Carribean voyage last year. We loved the ship. We are taking Aunt & her Neice on thier first cruise. Really looking forward to the trip. We booked a guar cat so I'm hoping we might get upgraded.

gentlemancruiser Posted December 19, 2004 #7 Share Posted December 19, 2004 Hi David, Our booklet arrived a week ago Friday. it has the shore exchursions & ports of call in the last half. There are far more excursions listed in it this year. If you do not recieve it this week contract your travel agent. The booklet also contains a Guest Registration Form that must be completed and faxed back to Cunard. They've indicaite it must be returned (faxed) 6 weeks prior to departure. Amyy Posted January 18, 2005 #10 Share Posted January 18, 2005 My husband and I are will also be on the same cruise. We are both in our 30's and live in North Virginia. 2 1/2 weeks left! Yeah!
david2673 Posted January 18, 2005 Author #11 Share Posted January 18, 2005 Hello Amyy, Glad to hear that there will be a few people our age on this cruise, although it sounds like we are the minority. We are just starting to thaw from a long freeze so the beaches of the caribbean are looking pretty good. I hope the weather is a little better in North Virginia. gentlemancruiser Posted January 19, 2005 #12 Share Posted January 19, 2005 Hi Amy & David, Yes I'm sure we will definitely be in the minority. I've always found Cunard attacts an older crowd (60' & 70's). I believe it's because they offer a more sedate cruise with less of the activities found on some of the other lines. I'm counting the days, See you on board. Bruce Hello Amyy,Glad to hear that there will be a few people our age on this cruise, although it sounds like we are the minority. david2673 Posted January 28, 2005 Author #13 Share Posted January 28, 2005 Amy, Bruce, Captaincat: Just over a week left... Are any of you staying in Ft. Lauderdale pre or post cruise? My wife and I will be staying at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino for a few nights prior and at the Marriott Marina 1 night after. Take care David
gentlemancruiser Posted January 29, 2005 #14 Share Posted January 29, 2005 Hi David, We are staying at Pier 66 pre & post. I've seen the Marriott Marina and it looks wonderful. I'm not sure where the Hard Rock is. Friends were on the Jan 15th sailing of QM2 and were kind enought to bring home the daily programs. They had 3 formal, 2 casual, and 2 informal nights. From the program it looks like Commordore Warrich will be on this sailing. 8 Days to go.... Bruce
gentlemancruiser Posted January 30, 2005 #15 Share Posted January 30, 2005 Our Travel Agent called this afternoon asking if we would be interested in taking a later cruise. Cunard has offered $2500.00 per cabin if would agree to take a later cruise. I'm guess Cunard is having difficult with it's reservation system. david2673 Posted January 30, 2005 Author #16 Share Posted January 30, 2005 Hello Bruce, So what is your plan? Are you going to take their offer? If I get a call I would have to decilne, as my wife has already booked the time off and would not be able to change it. What catagory did you book? gentlemancruiser Posted January 30, 2005 #17 Share Posted January 30, 2005 Hi David, We were tempted to take the offer but the people we are travlling with can't change thier schedule. We booked a C4 standard oceanview. It's just too bad Cunard didn't give us more notice. 6 more days to go!! Bruce
bostom Posted January 31, 2005 #18 Share Posted January 31, 2005 My partner and I will be on this cruise as well. Too busy working (and shoveling snow) to have looked here before now. GM's, early 50's. We fly to Miami on Wednesday; we'll be staying at the Sagamore in SoBe before the cruise. Cunard didn't call us about re-booking. Too bad, as we probably could. I'm happy to hear Commander Warwick will be sailing and I hope his wife is onboard: he's a terrific guy as his lovely and beautiful wife. We've sailed with him several times on the QE2. Has anyone seen Melanie Lamy on this series of cruises? We haven't been on a Cunard ship for three years and wonder if she's still with them. She's a social hostess, German-born and educated in England, and in the past was on both QE2 and the now-sold Vistafjord/Caronia. She's great too. We don't care if it rains every day (OK, OK, we do care...) as anywhere it isn't 17 degrees out and covered with three feet of snow will be an improvement. See you there! gentlemancruiser Posted January 31, 2005 #19 Share Posted January 31, 2005 Ray Rouse will be the cruise director this cruise. He was the CD last year and did an excellent job. Cunard also confirmed there will be 3 formal, 2 Casual, & 2 informal nights. I guess I should be packing...... I'll be happy to leave the snow and cold weather behind for a little while.
