Med. Cruise on eclipse questions

We have cruised with several other cruise lines,but this will be our first with Celebrity. Therefore I have a few questions which someone may be able to answer.

1. Do Celebrity have shuttles to towns away from port(eg Marseille, Valencia,Alicante etc)? What are their costs?

2 At tender ports(eg Villefranche) Is any form of priority given to disembark to any group or type of passenger(eg Aqua or concierge )?

Do not have specifics on these ports; but in general, Celebrity tends to offer DIY transportation-only shore excursions to such distant cities.

 

2 At tender ports(eg Villefranche) Is any form of priority given to disembark to any group or type of passenger(eg Aqua or concierge )?

 

Tender priorities are given to suite guests and loyalty levels of elite or higher; but no priority is given to cabin levels below suites.

The cruise visits these ports according to the itinery. We do not wish to go on their excursions, but visit the actual cities refered to. Marseille port is several miles away from the city and we want to visit the centre, so do Celebrity provide shuttles and at what cost?

Shuttle is the term usually used when a ship provides a service (for fee or not for a fee) from the ship to a relatively close city and runs the service on at least every hour if not more frequently. Such service is not provided for distances that would take an hour or more one way (and probably not for a 45 minute one way.) Celebrity would generally run a shuttle service for a fee (perhaps $30) if the one-way trip was 30 minutes or less.

For longer distances, then the only similar service provided by the ship would be a shore excursion in which they only provide round-trip transportation - leaving you off at a central point and picking you back up at that point later in the day. Typically such excursions are called on-your-own or do-it-yourself excursions - and Celebrity does offer such DIY excursions for many distant cities.

Reviewing the maps of your 3 destinations, city center should either be within easy walking distance or Celebrity will probably provide a for fee shuttle service.
