Florence on Sunday's

Hello all, my first time on these boards but probably not my last.

Will be cruising in May and tried pre-booking tickets for the Uffizi in Florence but it's not open on the day we are there. We have been to Florence before during mid week and just wondered if it is mainly closed on Sunday's. If so we may explore closer to the port.

I can't say definitely for Florence, but Rome is mostly closed on Sundays including the family run restaurants. Only the large ones remain open. I would imagine Florence to be the same.

Well, according to the Uffizi website, they are closed on Mondays, as are many museums in Italy and mainland Europe.
