75Vette Posted January 4, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2008 Has anyone used the parking lot across from the port in New Orleans? Or is it better to use the parking garage at the port? Thanks for your input.
nawlinscruiser22 Posted January 4, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 4, 2008 I would stick with the terminal parking. It is so convenient-park, ride an elevator a floor or two and get in line. Can't get much better then that!
beach410 Posted January 4, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 4, 2008 I used the port parking, piece of cake, you pull in, pay, not a lot either, pull up and drop your bags off to the porters who take them across the street for you and then you park and walk over. This is a great port to depart from, love the Fantasy!
nolaAlive Posted January 5, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 5, 2008 I think you are talking about the Fulton Street garage. It is $10/day. You drive your car in and there are some porters (not with the ship), that will put your luggage on a cart and follow you down in the elevator where you need to catch a bus to the terminal. I assume you need to tip them coming and going in addition to the regular seacaps, the the savings may not be what you think. Still, it is an option, although the inconvenience and extra time it takes is not worth it to me. I have not used it, but have seen it in operation when I have returned Hertz rental cars there. Parking at the port is directly on top of the terminal and you take an elevator to check in instead of a shuttle bus.
