Happy hour beach w chairs?

Not exactly. Even though palapas are open to the public, most resort guests get up at the crack of dawn to claim them. The resorts don't have enough for each family, so seriously, if you snooze you lose. The chairs at the resorts belong to the resorts, and they don't allow outsiders to sit in them. The only way that this might work would be to buy a day pass at an all inclusive, or go to Reflextions Beach Club. They have umbrellas, not palapas. There are several vendors along the beaches that rent chairs and umbrellas, and you could have you drinks there.
