Help with pre cruise shopping FLL

Hi there couple of questions I am hoping someone can help with...

1. Have a reservation at Holiday Inn FLL Airport/Cruise prior to cruise...wondering if anyone has stayed there recently and can comment on it. Was it clean? Do they do shuttle service to the pier? Any restaurants close by we can walk to?

2. Wondering if there is anywhere really close to this hotel to pick up some suntan lotion and some water and diet coke to carry on board. Walmart or grocery store or even a Walgreens. We are flying in and doing carryon only so would like to do this before we get on the ship.
