Worldlense Posted July 24, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 24, 2005 This typed from the Churchill Lounge of P&O's Pacific Sun. Impression of the ship so far..... Cabins clean and reasonably spacious - we are on the Empress deck (7 ) with a window view. Efficient and friendly cabin staff. Heavy smoking in the casino and bars which is a REAL problem for non smokers like us. Should ban it for all inside spaces as your clothes stink of it after an evening out. Food. Buffet breakfasts and lunched are excellent - nothing too adventurous but good quality. Big queues by the coffee machines. Evening dinner for us is the Burgundy Lounge, early sitting. Food is very dissapointing for this main meal. Tired presentations and sub standard ingredients. Not the class had expected of a ship of this stature. Sampled tough beef the first night and a pastry triangle with three pieces of surimi in it last night, masqerading as a seafood parcel Piano Man show last night was excellent
Kazza1 Posted July 24, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 24, 2005 Worldlense The ONLY complaint we had when we cruised in June was the smoke from the casino and Legends Bar. I couldnt believe that the childrens video arcade was right next to the casino. My eldest son only went to the arcade games once with the Shark shack because of the smoke. When we first boarded the ship, my husband, 3 young children and myself sat in the gazebo bar and said how nice it was to sit in there with a drink looking out at the view. THEN we didnt go near that area again because of the smoke. We couldnt stand walking past it, so to get to the Atlantis showlounge, we would go up or down a level and come out at the lifts on the other side. Skyrules Posted July 25, 2005 #4 Share Posted July 25, 2005 Have to agree about the smoke in the Casino, Games Arcade and that end if the Gazebo Bar. Not a very well designed area. On our cruise in June though, we found the meals to be excellent - only one night in 10 did all our party find nothing on the menu that took our fancy, so that night we ate at he Pizzeria instead. I did, however, avoid the steak on any night, after a bad experience with steak on an earlier cruise on Pacific Sky. This typed from the Churchill Lounge of P&O's Pacific Sun.
