Another Orkney Question

Has anybody had any recent experience with the tourism bus that goes around the Orkney Island? I've heard it's an inexpensive way to see around but also that if you miss getting back on at a stop you could be stranded! Are there any tours one can grab right at the port?

Also....if you are planning to use this service and buy tickets on the day of ... they only accept credit cards which work with the tap feature. If yours doesn't do that, then you will need to pay with cash. Be prepared!
