beachys Posted November 28, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 28, 2017 I'm looking for transportation options from the Hampton Inn Ridgefield Park to NYC. We plan to come in a day before our cruise and see the Christmas decorations in Rockefeller Center. We have a vehicle so we could drive to a train station. Thanks! 138east Posted November 28, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 28, 2017 Train is expensive. $30 to park at Secaucus Junction on a Thursday plus train fare of $4.25/pp each way to New York Penn Station. Bus from Harmon Meadows in Secaucus. Free mall parking. Bus 320 to Port Authority for $4.25/pp each way. http://www.njtransit.com/hp/hp_servlet.srv?hdnPageAction=HomePageTo There could be other options, but both the train service and the bus service from Harmon Meadows run frequently. beachys Posted November 29, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted November 29, 2017 What about parking at Essex station and taking that train in to Seacaucus? Would that work? Sent from my SM-G950U using Forums mobile app

Sent from my SM-G950U using Forums mobile app The train service from Essex Street to New York Penn Station requires a transfer at Secaucus Junction and doesn't run that frequently. It costs $7.25/pp each way, so with 5 people it costs the same as driving to Secaucus Junction and paying to park. There are at least 4 trains per hour between Secaucus Junction and New York Penn Station.

Sent from my SM-G950U using Forums mobile app There should also be bus service directly from Ridgefield Park into the city. http://www.njtransit.com/sf/sf_servlet.srv?hdnPageAction=TripPlannerTo If you choose not to eat in the city, there are choices at the Harmon Meadows mall in Secaucus should you leave your vehicle there. 138east Posted November 30, 2017 #8 Share Posted November 30, 2017 There should also be bus service directly from Ridgefield Park into the city. http://www.njtransit.com/sf/sf_servlet.srv?hdnPageAction=TripPlannerTo If you choose not to eat in the city, there are choices at the Harmon Meadows mall in Secaucus should you leave your vehicle there. There is bus service from Ridgefield Park to Port Authority Bus Terminal, but it's not within walking distance of Hampton Inn. It also doesn't have a frequent schedule. I would call the hotel to see what they recommend and get a price per ride. Harmon Meadows is a straight shot down the eastern spur of the NJ Turnpike at exit 16. The 320 bus runs frequently to Port Authority (at least 4 buses/hour). Lighting Way and Mill Creek Blvd is the bus origin. http://www.harmonmeadow.com/PublishingImages/HMDirectory.pdf Pick bus 320 on this njtransit page -http://www.njtransit.com/sf/sf_servlet.srv?hdnPageAction=BusTo
rbiz Posted December 4, 2017 #9 Share Posted December 4, 2017 We just stayed there, and they do offer a free shuttle to the bus station. Call them for further details, very helpful and friendly staff.
