Queen Mary 2-value for money?

English Voyager

Recommended Posts

Having received copies of the Cunard, and Radisson(World Cruise) 2005 brochures,I thought I would look at the Transatlantic voyages.

Setting a budget,to include airfares,and port charges,of £3000 pp,the result was interesting.

On the QM2,one would obtain a P1 suite(381 sq.ft).Gratuities( $13 per day ),and drinks extra.

On the Voyager,one would obtain a D suite(306 sq.ft.).Gratuities,and drinks included.

However,the "clincher" is:

QM2 cruise duration: 6 nights.

Voyager cruise duration:14 nights.

How much is one paying for the QM2 experience?

I think it depends on which itinerary you do the comparing. On our upcoming QM2 8 day Caribbean out of NY next April, we're paying about $300pp more for a comparable balcony on Carnival minus airfare we would need to meet a Carnival ship in Florida. That basically evens it all out moneywise. We're sailing the QM2 for Canival prices plus airfare. Seems like a good value to us.
