Has any previous cruisers recieved a guarentee on their cabin, and did you recieve an upgrade?
We are cruising on the Nov 6, 2004 out of NY and recieved a guarentee for a B1 catagory. Does this mean a possible upgrade. Has anyone else recieved a guarentee on this cruise date?

We had a guarantee for the 1/31/04 cruise and was upgraded from a lower deck up to deck 10 as the prices dropped, but I found this myself and notified my travel agent. We always book a guarantee on all of our cruises and have never been disappointed.

I have a question. We are booked on the June 19th eastbound crossing and were given a guarantee. Our check-in time is 2:30, but we were considering arriving earlier. Would this be in our best interest if we hope to receive and upgrade? Thanks!

With a guarantee you are not assigned a specific cabin but are guaranteed at least the category you pay for. In many cases you are upgraded as they sell more cabins in that same category.

We booked a balcony for next April and I noticed an agency offering a guarantee of a category one above ours at ten dollars cheaper than what we are paying. I say, we are staying with our booking because we have a choice balcony mid ship and any guarantees will end up with the staterooms rejected by others reserving them. This is not a ship that has to undersell. Group space sold will be accommadeted with the least chosen staterooms. Perhaps with the passengers already booked in reserved staterooms upgraded. This has happened to us before. Be careful about booking bulk rates because the cruise line often upgrades others to avoid upgrading bulk. We were upgraded once even though we paid less than a bulk group and the rep said that they would rather upgrade a confirmed res than a group res.
