There are too many variable open. Barcelona has 2 Terminals.

If this is Brussels Airlines, they require that check-in is completed 70 minutes prior to departure and 90 minutes prior to and from the USA.

You will be able to both arrange a taxi in advance and they are also usually easily available directly in the center.

T1 at Barcelona is about 30 minutes from the center.

Again, if Brussels Airlines, they are at the beginning of the terminal, which is actually the highest check-in counter numbers.

So a departure of 2 to 2.25 hours prior to flight might be comfortable by taxi.

You can take the A1 bus from Plaza Catalunya to the terminal as well, but allow about 15 minutes additional.

A link to Barcelona airport website. Most info available in English.
