bigwirenut Posted June 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 11, 2018 Are the very aft cabins a good choice when on a Alaska Cruise, we always get aft cabins in the Caribbean but not sure if it would be a good choice on an Alaska cruise.

If it's a "true" aft than those are amazing...we've had a few...otherwise we like midship.
Debbdo Posted June 13, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 13, 2018 I sure hope so as I've booked one for our September Alaska cruise on the Emerald Princess.

What are the differences between "true" and "untrue" aft balconies?
Ashland Posted June 29, 2018 #6 Share Posted June 29, 2018 What did you mean by "true" aft? What are the differences between "true" and "untrue" aft balconies? A true aft is just what it implies....at the back of the ship facing the wake. Just an aft cabin can be on the port or starboard side....A big difference to most of us aft lovers. We booked an true aft cabin too for our Alaska cruise. We love afts. Though I wonder if if would have been better to get one of the corner wrap around afts, so you can see both the side and aft, esp when viewing the glaciers. We had one of those for Hawaii and the views can’t be beat. Sent from my iPad using Forums

Sent from my iPad using Forums I am now dreaming of the wrap around aft cabins, but unfortunately the ship we are on in September (Emerald Princess) doesn't have them. I'll have to "settle" for our aft suite. ;p
juliusguck Posted June 30, 2018 #9 Share Posted June 30, 2018 We had an aft on our Alaska cruise and most cruise. When we turned around in the fjord we had a wonderful prolonged viewing of the glacier!
