joan72761 Posted December 10, 2011 #1 Share Posted December 10, 2011 Plan to spend some beach time but we also want to shop so I thought I would rewrite this question in the hopes I would get some answers.:p DH and SNL wants to snorkle and swim but the adult females want to spend some time shopping. How close is shopping and food and bathrooms to Junkanoo beach? Thanks.

How close is shopping and food and bathrooms to Junkanoo beach? Thanks. Junkanoo beach (freeport) has a restaurant and bathrooms. There are some locals vendors selling their wares along the walkway our front. No significant "shopping".
gottago2mexico Posted December 10, 2011 #3 Share Posted December 10, 2011 Port Lucaya is about a 5 minute taxi ride - I believe they'll shuttle you there for free from Junkanoo, or you can take the shuttle to Port Lucaya and have them pick you up there and take you to Junkanoo (just don't say you're cruise passengers). joan72761 Posted December 11, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted December 11, 2011 Why wouldn't we want to say we are cruise passengers? And for relaxation, is Junkanoo good or is Port Lucaya better? Thanks
gottago2mexico Posted December 12, 2011 #5 Share Posted December 12, 2011 Because Junkanoo Beach Club offers free transportation for on-island guests, not for cruise passengers. I suppose that is because they don't have to go very far for most on-island guests, and that they sell beach breaks through the cruise ship. Port Lucaya is a place you can go shopping, eat lunch, have a drink and listen to some softer type of live music. Junkanoo Beach Club is a beach club, with lounge chairs, loud music, swimming, food and watersports. Totally different environment, just depends what you are seeking. beachlover02 Posted December 19, 2011 #6 Share Posted December 19, 2011 Is there a fee for beach chairs and what type of water sports do they have on Junkanoo?
