Schuddy Posted July 26, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 26, 2017 I am travelling from Lisbon to Manaus Brazil Oct 2017 Then on to Montevideo. Hurtigruten does not off many shore tours ;and the few that are available are very very expensive. I would like to hear from anyone who has done this trip. I need some advice on what to do ashore. You might also want to post this on the South America Ports of Call sub-forum: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=76 And also search there for "Amazon", as there may be suggestions about private tours/etc., recommended by those traveling there on other cruise lines. Enjoy!
digitl Posted August 18, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 18, 2017 We haven't done Fram in the Amazon but we have considered it. And rejected it as the number of sea days, though no doubt necessary, were too many. And it was expensive. If we do go to the Amazon we will book one of the smaller local boats and make our own way to and from Manaus.
