Bus to Valley Church Beach

Heading there after Thanksgiving and thinking about going to Valley Church. Can we get a local bus there and back? If so what bus? Where do we get it? And is it easy to get one back?

Yes. You will catch the #22 bus at the West Bus Station Terminal in St Johns. From the pier, head straight (east) to Market Street and then take a right (south) to the Bus Terminal. It is about a 10 min walk from the pier and any of the local people can point you in the right direction.

You will pick up the bus after your beach day at the same spot it dropped you off - other side of the street. (closest to the beach). The busses don't run on a set schedule, but you should not have to wait more than 10 - 20 minutes for one to come by.

Just a word of warning about getting the bus. Last time we were in Antigua we decided to do this. Headed to the bus station. Found the bus and sat on it and waited.....and waited.....and waited. Several locals got on the bus and off again after waiting a while. Some other tourists got on and asked the driver when we would be going. He said when the bus was full. After a while they asked again and he said I'll go now if you pay for all the empty seats. At this point we got off the bus and walked back to the port and got a taxi. I estimate we sat on that bus for almost 30 minutes. We always prefer to get local transport and perhaps we were unlucky with a grumpy driver. We'll be heading off to Valley Church when we're in Antigua next week but not on the local bus ;)
