tampaite Posted November 11, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2017 Cruising to Nassau for first time on Royal Caribbean next week and need suggestions for excursions. The cruise ship will dock around 8am and depart at 9pm so I figured our core activity hours would be between 10am and 6pm. We are party of 5( 3 adults and 2 kids) One of the adult is 60+ and Kids are 3 and < 1. Royal Caribbean is charging $49 per person to Atlantis Discovery Tour - Is that worth it (~$250) or should we head to local attractions? I understand we may have to pay additional for Taxi to/fro from any destination. Being it's our first time in Nassau, is the Atlantis tour a must or nice to do? We probably aren't into any adventure related activities given the kids. Is lunch/drink expensive around Nassau? Not sure if we can carry/pack our lunch or expect to pay for it. mjkacmom Posted November 11, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 11, 2017 I believe that gives you access to the aquarium, not the beach or pools. You can’t take unpacked food off of the ship, I don’t think you will find much cheap food - food at Atlantis is very expensive.

Is it still worth to pay to see the Aquarium?

tampaite Posted November 21, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted November 21, 2017 11/21 Update: We just came back from the Atlantis Discovery Tour. If you have EVER been to an Aquarium, skip this tour and save yourself $49 per person. Just not worth it.

I wasn't sure if there were a lot of steps that would make it difficult with the stroller. Thanks for any info Sent from my iPad using Forums

For strollers, you'll have to use elevators rather than steps but the tour guide will wait for you so you can re-join the group. the elevators are pretty close to steps. CBRican1 Posted March 11, 2018 #10 Share Posted March 11, 2018 Can I ask why you don’t recommend it? We were considering doing this with our five-year-old who complains about walking so was thinking about taking a small umbrella stroller but now wondering why it’s not worth it ? Noblarneyimirish Posted March 13, 2018 #11 Share Posted March 13, 2018 Just got back from Nassau. Had a unexpected overnight stay. Took a cab to Atlantis for $4 per person. Walked thru the shops, went thru a large aquarium for free and walked the awesome marina and shops. Was an awesome time. Won $375 in the Casino. No need to take a tour. You can do a lot on your own Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Sparkymedic Posted March 21, 2018 #13 Share Posted March 21, 2018 Just to make sure I understand correctly because we also want to just see the aquarium. You can just pay to get in the aquarium. You don't have to buy a day pass for anything else. TIA Sent from my iPhone using Forums
