Spa Question

Does anyone know the difference between the Couples Choice package and the Ultimate Indulgence package? I tried to call DCL but they’re wait time is crazy right now. Couples choice says one 75 min treatment, but what are you doing the other 55 minutes of the time allotted? Is Ultimate Indulgence for couples too? Any insight would be helpful. Thanks!

I did it many years ago when it was called "Spa Villa for Two." That included a foot wash and "consultation" about which massage you wanted, then time in a private hot tub for two on the balcony with scent of your choice. Then there was a 75 minute massage followed by some time sitting in lounge chairs on the balcony with tea and fruit served. And finally you had to re-enter the "real world." It was costly, but a lovely experience.

Sounds divine. And I think my Disney Visa will get me 20% off the service. We just got off the NCL Jade and a couples massage was $380 for 65 minute massage. Sounds like this Disney treatment is worth it in comparison. I’m assuming you’re talking about the couples choice and not the Ultimate Indulgence?

Sorry, I cannot address the titles they are using today. At the time we did it, it was called "Spa Villa for Two," and there was an attached list of choices. There was no "standard" menu other than the foot wash, hot tub, and relaxation with refreshments. Each of us was given a list of possible massage options and chose from among them, and we were given a choice of scented stuff that was used in the hot tub.

We were shown to the room and two women came in. At the time we entered, the room was totally clean and prepared for new people. While one woman explained our choices, the other filled the hot tub. After the selections were made, the foot wash started.

  • 2 months later...

We had the Couple's Choice 1/1/18. It consisted of a foot bath, then about 15 minutes in the jacuzzi. Then a 75 minute hot stone massage (we could've chosen other types of massage, bamboo is the only one I recall), then fruit skewers and chocolate strawberries on the verandah. Then a very gimmicky hard sell on spa products, and then they escorted us to the locker rooms to shower. There was nice shower for 2 in the massage suite, and I don't know why we weren't able to shower there. Overall, I would not recommend the spa villa treatments based on our experience.

I think the ultimate indulgence has more options then the couples choice but can only be booked onboard. We have done the couples choice 3 times and the 130min time is "more of what you call guidelines then actual rule," plan on the total time taking 3 hours from arriving until leaving, even if you don't take an after shower.

The first 55ish minutes is about getting you relaxed and comfortable for the massage. There is fruit plates, tea and/or fruit flavored water depending on the outside temperature, hot tub time, foot rub, and consult on what services your want for the 75min.

Both the UI and CC happen in a private room, if you are doing it during the day at sea, leave your bathing suit back at the room and go Adam and Eve style.
