Half Coon Cay and rough seas?

Hi--

Thinking of taking a cruise next June and Half Moon Cay seems really appealing. Is this island missed much because the seas are too rough to tender?

For sure during hurricane season it's iffy at best, but it's always a gamble to expect to get to any port because weather can change things in an instant. We missed Grand Cayman once in February, and again in early November. Missed HMC in late November but made it in early February. It all depends on what Mother Nature decides to do on any particular day.

I think I'm a perfect 4 for 4 having never missed HMC & I always go during Hurricane Season. It's always a crap shoot no matter what time of year. You never know........good luck.

We've been there once. We loved it. Sadly, it started to POUR, not just rain but pour. They had to cancel the buffet and we had to return to the ship. I'l like to try it again though, it was so beautiful.

We've been there twice. First time was bummed as water was filled with jelly fish larvae, couldn't go in. Next time they cancelled the tender about 30 minutes after they started due to storm and rough seas. Those coming back had some really scary waves to deal with on the tender back. It's been a wash out for us so far.
