Sthrncrusr Posted May 27, 2013 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2013 Not sure how I missed this on the website but looks like on the bank of america site there is an area for travel where I can use my accumulated points to help pay for our family cruise next year to Europe on RCL! I have never really paid attention to the points and what I could get. (Just pay my bill every month! Silly I know :-))Anyone ever done this and approximately how many points does it take to get money off or even pay for the cruise? I know I can call the bank but before I do, I figured I'd ask you pros! We always book through RC but wondering if this could be a more economical approach if we can save some money! Just want to make sure their travel folks are legit...
montekat Posted May 27, 2013 #2 Share Posted May 27, 2013 Here is a link on Royal Caribbean's website that explains how many points are needed for each redemption. We always just book directly on the RCCL website. There is a link also on this that takes you to the redemption site. http://www.royalcaribbean.com/dealsandmore/offer/visa.do?cS=NAVBAR&pnav=3&snav=
Sthrncrusr Posted May 27, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted May 27, 2013 Thanks! I don't have RCCL card. Just a standard visa with world points!
sue402001 Posted May 27, 2013 #4 Share Posted May 27, 2013 I've done this with the Norwegian Cruise Line Mastercard. I just turned in 350 points and got $350 off of my cruise. :)

delily Posted May 31, 2013 #6 Share Posted May 31, 2013 I have the BOA card and it is good for travel. Go to their rewards website and it will explain the points. You will need many thousands. I've never used it for travel but did get a super nice vacuum cleaner with mine last year that would have cost me close to $300 in the store. 5HappyCampers Posted June 2, 2013 #7 Share Posted June 2, 2013 We used our points to upgrade from oceanview to balcony and some onboard credit to take care of tips and other charges ;)
attilamom1217 Posted June 11, 2013 #8 Share Posted June 11, 2013 We don't have BOA, but we do have a travel rewards credit card. We book our travel, use the credit card to pay for it. Then when the bill comes in, we go to the card's website and use points to pay for the travel.
TinaT Posted June 11, 2013 #9 Share Posted June 11, 2013 Yes my husband and I used our points to cruise.. we racked up enough points for a free cruise for 2.. ( does not include tax and port chargers ) We cruised the Allure of the seas when it first came out.. It was the best cruise by far!
