y-me? Posted January 9, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2005 We are coming to Sydney on Feb. 2nd before our cruise. We need to call home frequently. Does anyone know of a good reputable and reasonable cell phone company to rent from? Also,we'd like to know if anyone has spectacular casual restaurants in Sydney or Auckland as we are spending extra time in each. We are a "lose" group of 8 couples from South Florida (various) areas and Pittsburgh. Many of us will be doing our "own thing" and are always interestied in meeting people to share vans, etc. Any great tours you know of we'd appreciate too. :) . Globaliser Posted January 9, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2005 Also,we'd like to know if anyone has spectacular casual restaurants in Sydney or Auckland as we are spending extra time in each.Do you mean "casual" as in "also inexpensive"? Most restaurants in Sydney are fairly laid back in terms of dress code, even though some can be quite expensive. Also, do you mean "spectacular" in terms of view, or food? In Sydney, there are a number of restaurants in the International Passenger Terminal, where the Sapphire Princess will dock - some are more casual and inexpensive than others. Once the ship is out of the way, there is a great view from these restaurants of the Opera House and the harbour beyond. The branch in this building of Doyle's (which is a bit of a Sydney institution even if it is a bit touristy and - some say - a bit overpriced) also has views of the Harbour Bridge. And there are a number of restaurants in the converted warehouse building just to the north of the IPT (before you reach the Park Hyatt) which also have similar views of the Opera House.
