Sailaway cabin to pick vs. assignment

Hi,

We booked a sailaway cabin. When clicking through on ncl.com before, we saw the same room as an option under IX and under IF. I did not expect to see a room option under IX, but was thinking let's pay the sailaway price for an IF (and prices more steeply increased than I'm used to seeing and sailaway was a really good deal!). On the TA invoice, we did not have a room assigned; just sailaway as expected. On myncl.com, we see that we got the one "available" room. When I started to click through again, ncl.com skipped the room selection. Then a few days later, starting to click through again, the room next to us was the only IX choice.

Does anyone know why this process is working this way :)? Will we keep this room or be reassigned? I have seen the Sailaway categories sale out quickly on some cruises; is there always a set number of rooms?

I'm good either way -- that's what we signed up for -- just curious.

Tammy

You will keep your room assignment. The number of sailaways is determined by their yield management deciding how many rooms to offer at a discounted price. If they estimate that people are willing to pay higher prices, then rooms will be kept for the higher cabin classes.
