Marseille - How to Estimate effect of 5 ships in Port?

There will be five ships in port from 8am to 6pm (one of them ours) next spring with a maximum passenger capacity of more than 12,000 people. I was planning on using the port shuttle to town (as we did last year) and the hoho bus before going to the museum (two things I didn’t do last year); but, I’m nervous about how these busses will be able to handle the crowds.

Has anyone been there when 12,000 passengers arrive and depart at the same time? If so, what was the experience like?
