Halifax Car trip

Recommended Posts

I am going to Halifax on Monday and have read here that renting a car is reasonable and easy to do. I am thinking of driving to Lunenburg which seems nice. Mapquest states that it's around 1.25 hours. Does that sound right?

What else is there to see along the way? Is it feasible to drive to Lunenburg, see the town, have something to eat, drive back to Halifax and do some shopping before boarding the ship (Carnival Victory) at around 5pm?

Yes it is possible and also visit Mahone Bay which is on the way to Lunenberg. If you have 7-8 hours in port, this should be easy. Also can view Peggy's Cove on the way out to Lunenberg or on the way back ( I would go on the way out and make it early to beat the tourist buses)
