We will be in St. Lucia in March on the Celebrity Constellation. Has anyone been on this excursion or have any comments?

 

Best Views of St. Lucia - SL57 - Castries, St. Lucia XXX

A spectacular sightseeing trip with fabulous views of the north of St Lucia. Enjoy panoramic views of the harbor and city, stopping at the historic Iniskilling Monument with actual cannons used in the 18th century wars. A delightful shopping stop and exciting local scenes wait. Cool ocean breezes wash over you as you relax before heading on the short return trip back to your ship.

 

Depart the pier on an air conditioned bus. Pass the Castries market with its colorful activity, the historic church and the city square.

Stop at Morne Fortune for a panoramic view of the city of Castries and the harbor below.

Weather permitting; see the mountain range of the neighboring island of Martinique.

Move along to the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College. See the renovated army barracks used during the 18th century wars between the British and the French.

Stop at the Iniskilling monument, erected in honor of the gallant 27th Regiment. Explore the hilltop’s original cannons used in the war and spectacular views of Castries.

A short drive takes you to the Caribelle Batik, one of the finest remaining examples of Victorian Caribbean architecture and the location of spectacular harbor views.Enjoy a demonstration of the batik process and shop for many exquisite handmade products.

Continue along the peaceful back roads running along the ridge of a mountain top. Take in the views of the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. See La Souciere Mountain which looks like a woman lying flat.

Make your third photo stop overlooking the Marquis Estate, one of the first and largest banana plantations in St. Lucia.

Make your final stop at Happy Day bar with a view of the Marina. Enjoy a complimentary fruit juice and local snacks while you relax.
