Volcano near Vanuata

I wonder how far this is from Vanuata and if it might effect cruises to the area in the near future...?

I will be REALLY angry if it blows and ruins my cruise! Hopefully it won't happen but it would be an awesome sight.

it doesn't look to be all that far from Vila and or Luganville... do P&O cruises go to any of those other islands in the same area?

Back in 9-00, on Sky Princess (now Pacific Sky) we stopped at Rabual, and a volcano there at the port was smoking mightily. Ship passed out surgical masks to all passengers, and put up special filters on the air intakes on the funnel, to keep the smoke/dust out of the ship's system.

Next port was Vila, Vanuatu, but no volcanoes erupting there, then.

One of the Vanuatu tourism sites says the only area of concern is within a 5km radius of the volcano.
