wet/dry season in FP?

I realize that weather is unpredictable. On our Alaska cruise last June, typically a cool, drizzly time for Alaskan cruises, the cruise before us had non-stop rain. We boarded Vancouver in 80F sunny weather - people were in the pool like it was a Mexican Riveria cruise! We had sun and mid 70F's the whole week. Thenk it was rain and cold for the cruise after us.

But, (trying to plan next year's vacation) which months are typically dryer in FP?

The "rainy" season runs November thru March. However on our 2/27/04 Tahiti/Marquesas cruise, we had overcast skies most of the time but only ran into one day with significant rain. And even that rainfall was over with within a couple of hours.

We were on the cruise after Capt Bill in March and we had glorious sunshine every day except our second morning in Bora Bora when it rained for about an hour or so and then it cleared up. Next day in Moorea it was back to wonderful sunshine again. Mind you the humidity was very high, around 90% but that is expected at that time of year as it is their summer, the same as us here. The best time is really from about May to October, as it is their winter season and the air is dry.

We went on the TP the last two years in March and had very good weather. It was hot but it never really bothered me. (I come from Long Island NY and we have 90-100% humidity most days, even in winter.) The water was very warm and inviting at that time of year and it was great to escape the cold Northeast. We are planning to go again in March 2006.
