brucejr Posted May 16, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2004 I have and it was quite a nice time. Coki Beach is a nice place to spend the morning, especially if are traveling with a mixed group of divers and non-divers. I can't believe that someone would choose to snorkel when they could dive instead. I find snorkeling to be way too restrictive. If you haven't already, you might like to check out the Coki Beach Dive Club web site. if there's a way to construe my post as non-argumentative, please do so. Cruise photos on my Home page Spring Break was on the Grand Princess 21, March 2004 So when is the next cruise? mermaid40 Posted May 16, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted May 16, 2004 brucejr, Thank you! We have decided to go to Coki Beach and dive there. I was wondering if there are taxis available at coki Beach or do I need to call for one? We would like to see Megan's bay after Coki Beach, then back to the ship for shopping and Paradise tram. Thanks!! brucejr Posted May 17, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 17, 2004 You should have plenty of time to do all that if you go to Coki first thing in the morning. I think that is better anyway because you get there before the beach becomes more populated. Get a couple of dives in, then walk right next door to Coral World and there should be a taxi or 2 available. There are showers at Coki so you can wash off the saltwater without having to go back to the ship first before you go to your next destination. have a super time
Indycr Posted May 17, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 17, 2004 If you are using Coki Beach Dive Club, they will pick you up at the dock. We did our first 2 certification dive with them in March; had to go to the other side of the island that day due to wave conditions Completed our cert dives in Barbados, two days later. Orcrone Posted May 17, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 17, 2004 I contacted Coki Beach Dive Club a little while ago. They will only pick you up if your ship arrives early enough (don't remember exactly when). But our ship will not arrive until 10:00 AM, which is too late. So if I wish to dive with them I'll have to take a cab. 1/1990 - RCCL Song of America 4/13/2003 - Carnival Inspiration 10/30/2004 - Maasdam Till sailing on the Maasdam
everyotheryear Posted May 19, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 19, 2004 last time I was in St. Thomas the cabi(which we grabbed in port right off of ship) dropped us off and asked what time we would like him to come back. We told him and he was right on time and would take us wherever we wanted. My husband dove on coki beach and loved it. Orcrone Posted May 20, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 20, 2004 everyotheryear, That's a great piece of info. We'll probably be doing the cab to and from. BTW, we were on the Inspiration last year and we'll be on the Maasdam in October. I know that they're very different ships. How did you like the Maasdam? thanks, Marc 1/1990 - RCCL Song of America 4/13/2003 - Carnival Inspiration 10/30/2004 - Maasdam Till sailing on the Maasdam
brucejr Posted May 30, 2004 #9 Share Posted May 30, 2004 I went back looking thru my old cruise photo album and this photo was taken at Coki Beach. It was back before I had my digital camera, so this is an actual film photo. The camera was a Sea and Sea MX-5. if there's a way to construe my post as non-argumentative, please do so. Cruise photos on my Home page Spring Break was on the Grand Princess 21, March 2004 So when is the next cruise?
