Stores around Galveston Port?

Are there any stores within walking distance that I could pick up a few items before boarding? Walmart? Convienience Store? etc?

There are a few convenience stores near the port but not many I think the closest ones are off Broadway. There's also the Strand but it's only good for shopping but you can buy sodas & snacks at some of the shops. I believe the closest shopping mart would be Target on your way into town. Walmart is located across town on the seawall. I would recommend buying all your supplies at home before leaving for your cruise unless you're buying alcohol.;) Here's a map I found last night on another post, it pretty much points out all the major pharmacies, stores, restaurants etc.....

Hi, I took a back-to-back on Splendor, and got off for a few hours in Galveston. I was looking to buy some sodas. Walk two blocks from ship to Strand, then take left. Found sodas, sundries, flip-flops, etc. Interesting area. I been to Galveston a dozen or so times, but never really spent much time exploring that area. It was worth the look
