Getting to Houston from Galveston after cruise?

Does anyone know what the earliest time you could book a flight out of Houston once the ship docks in Galveston (if we use Princess' transfers)?. Has anyone done this? I want to book my own air but I will probably need to use
Princess to get from Galveston to Houston.
We are thinking about renting a car one way before the cruise because I have some airline miles that I won't ever accrue enough for flying and will use them for a rental car.

HI, We are doing the same thing with Celebrity in Nov. and I called them about this same question. This was their anser and I'm sure Princess will do the same for you. They told me what times to book flight to connedt with their buses, for us it was arrival before 1 PM and departure after 1 PM this assures you they will have you there on time for flight. Since we depart ship at 8 AM, this should leave plenty of time. I hope i've helped you

I talked to Princess the evening and they said the same thing.....book your flights after 1pm.
NWA has a flight at 1230 and we could be in Memphis by 2pm but I'm afraid to do this.

It will take you at least two hours to get from Galveston to the Houston Intercontinental Airport -- and that is with a pretty crazy driver!!
