I returned today from Bermuda on the Dawn.

Mr Hollis passed away on June14th. He was 81 years old.

Sorry to be the bearer of this sad news.. Many people here spoke highly and recommended Mr Hollis for private Bermuda taxi tours.

Four weeks ago, after reading the reviews here on these boards, I booked a tour with Mr Hollis for Tuesday the 19th of June and received a confirmation email the very next day.

When he didn't show up at the dock I asked around for him. A few minutes later 2 taxi drivers came up to me and told me of his passing. They called him Skipper and couldn't say enough good things about him. One even said that Mr Hollis trained him.

I was then offered to have one of them give me a tour. But, another taxi driver pulled up with my name on a card. He was a good friend of Mr Hollis and was sent by Dennis's family to be sure that I got my tour. His name was Loyd. He is 78 years old and said he is retired.and only drives when he feels like it. I got a first class tour of Bermuda that I will never forget.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear this! Dennis was such a wonderful person and he made such a huge impact on our Bermuda experience when we toured with him. Thanks so much for posting this to let us know.

I had also emailed Dennis for a tour on June 23rd. He responded immediately saying that he wasn’t able to do it, but could refer someone instead. We ended up using his nephew, who was very knowledgeable and polite. He told us Dennis wasn’t able to do it because his grandson was getting married that day, but sadly passed away the week before.

We enjoyed our tour very much with Rudolph - just wish the van had been air conditioned, it was quite hot!!
