Missouri Cruisers

I'm in MO and we're driving to Galveston to board. I'm wondering what route other Missourians have taken to Galveston. I've looked at the Map sites, but I really don't think the way they show is the fastest.

I used to live outside of Springfield and am now in Dallas... I dont know where you live but coming from Springfield I would take 44 to Tulsa, 69 to the 75 into Dallas and then 45 into Houston/Galveston. Going through Arkansas takes FOREVER and there arent any really fast routes.

We live between Spfld and Joplin and that is the route we took down. We took the interstate on the way back and it did take about an hour or so longer - but a little better roads. 69/75 had a fair amount of construction and kinda bumpy in places but was a bit faster (this was 2 weeks ago)

It really depends where in MO you are. I'm in the transportation industry and can probably give you a real good idea of the fastest way there given highway quality and expected traffic.
