imagination review

my husband traveled on the imagination in jan 06.

we had an excellent time

the staff is super friendly/helpful.

we were on the empress deck E110: good storage space, in excellent repair, amazing bedding, little movement, no vibration.

embarkation: decent. we got to the port at 1030am, on lido by 1145am

muster: efficient/painless

food: B- but no compalints; i didnt have to prepare or clean. (on a personal note: our tablemates were barely tolerable..negative, strange, boring. we made the best of it and laughed alot )

spotty to nonexistent waitstaff on the veranda deck (saved on the alcohol bill)

we did not go to any shows

no luck in casino

grand cayman: beautiful. went to hyatt. don't believe the hype over at *******************.com..there is NO cruise passenger discount. we spent $200 on the pass, snorkeling, 6 drinks. we had a perfect day, comfy chairs with attached canopy, beautiful pool/jacuzzi. the snorkeling was B+. you have to swim out about 50-75 yards. well worth the money but unexpected.

difficult to get taxi at port. taxi waiting outside hyatt when time to leave.

jamaica: I LOVE JAMAICA!! i love the people. what a perfect paradise. we were lucky enough to have friends who have a home on beach there so that is where we spent our day. butler for food/drinks. what an unforgetable treat.

we are planning to rent a villa next jan and stay for 2 weeks.

disembarkation: painless

internet service: quick. bought package

cons: horrible coffee (had to mix with hot choc to choke it down), nasty iced tea (great lemonaide)past guest reception.

we would not hesitate to go on imagination again

Lemongirl: Thanks for the review, sounds like you had a great time. We really enjoyed our Imagination cruise a few weeks ago. We had a great time in Jamaica too, did the White River tubing which was fun. We didn't get to stop in Grand Cayman because of the winds/weather. We had intended to go on our own to Seagrape Beach. The Hyatt in Grand Cayman sounds great, could you tell me a little more about it? My teens like to snorkel and my MIL likes to lay on beach and Hyatt sounds like it has both. What is the pool/jacuzzi area like? How long/how much is the cab ride to and from? Where do you buy the pass? Is it a strenuous swim to get out to the snorkeling area? Do they rent snorkel equipment? Were the fish colorful? We saw gorgeous bright colorful fish in Cozumel but the kids were very disappointed in St. John's--all the fish/wildlife were grey/brown. Dirty snorkel equipment. Are there floats to rent? Thanks so much!

I loved the coffee! After 9 days on the ship I learned that they use extra clorine in the water which affects the ice tea. All you have to do is squeeze lemon in the ice tea or water and it removes the clorine.

I can't wait for our next cruise just to have the coffee on the Lido Deck!

Yes, just off the Imagination myself on Thursday.

Ship was beautiful and clean and service was exceptional. Sushi was great for "cooked" seafood. Entertainment was also great. Food was okay, nothing to write home about, except the pizza and soft-serve ice cream. They had one midnight buffet and one Mexican buffet @ 11:30. Didn't win a thing in the casino, but the nickel machines kept me busy for hours!

Didn't like the salt-water pools (only two were in service), and the funnel deck didn't have any water near it.

Will probably write a review at some point. Can't say enough about the cleanliness and service.
