Overnight from Dunedin Shore Excursions - Queenstown - Reboarding Milford Sound

Hello,

We are looking at a Celebrity Shore Excursion that overnights in Queenstown. Since this is the first sailing for Celebrity we were wondering if there were any reviews from others who have done this from a cruise ship (Princess? HAL?) .

Can you provide information on the hotel that you stayed in? How much time did you have in Queenstown on your own? Did anyone try Bungy Jumping? Was the drive from Dunedin worth it? Did your shipmates comment on anything spectacular in the other fjords that you wish you would not have missed.

Any and all comments would be appreciated.

We contacted the Celebrity Shore Excursion desk and they were able to tell us the Hotel. It is the Heritage Hotel in Queenstown. We contacted them directly and their concierge was very helpful.

We are also wondering about whether or not to book the overnight excursion to Queenstown on the Dec 9 New Zealand trip. Trying to decide if it is better than seeing the two sounds.

The big plus for the tour is seeing Queenstown, and the scenery as you drive through the National Park.

Celebrity has done the NZ run before and offered the overnight excursions. We were onboard in January 2008 and it was great fun watching the guests boarding the ship in the sounds.
