deputyfl Posted November 22, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 22, 2008 Hi yall, this is my first post on this site. Ive been on a few cruises and alot of day cruises. I collect casino chips from cruises and day cruises. I thought maybe some of you would like to see some of my collection. I got tons of casino chips but these are just a few of my $25s. The red one on top is from Carnival Mardi Gras and is the first chip issued on Carnival in 1972! Anyway, enjoy :)
Philly Steve Posted November 22, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 22, 2008 Nice collection! I like the plastic cases; great way to display and keep them in mint shape. $500.00 worth of chips but the memories are worth a lot more. ;) Welcome to Cruise Critic! :)
deputyfl Posted November 23, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted November 23, 2008 Thanks Philly Steve:) Not all of em cost $25. Some cost as little as $5 and others cost me as much as over $100 to get! It depends on if the chips have been released to the market or how rare they are. The ones that are still in play i get anywhere from face value(if i know someone whos going on a boat) to about $35 or so on ebay or through private sales. Theres a few other collectors that ive seen post here who have real nice cruise ship chip collections like "jarbg"(who the one who told me about this site) and "ckaplan". ckaplan also has a web site that is used as a guide for Caribbean casino chips as well! mmn531 Posted February 11, 2011 #8 Share Posted February 11, 2011 I am glad to know I am not the only one who leaves 'money on the table' bringing these home. I had a disaster and lost some of mine during a move. Guess I will have to go back on those ships again !!!
redhot1 Posted March 17, 2011 #9 Share Posted March 17, 2011 Have an extensive chip collection, got a roulett layout from vegas and then put 2 way velcro on the chip from Joanns, a yardage store and put it on the felt. Has been up for years and am always adding new chips. play with it,it will work.:)
