Ports Of Call lapel/hat pins

Hat Pinz Guy

Recommended Posts

Hello all:

I searched the thread for this topic and only found the carnival Pins thread and decided to ask this:

(if it is a duplicate I apologize and please merge)

Who else collects these?

I buy one for each port that I travel to.

I put these and the ship pin on my hat so I have all the ship pins and port pins on my hat

I am looking for the collectible hat/lapel pins for the following POC's.

Over the years I have lost these or just forgotten to buy them

Grand Turk

Ocho Rios

Costa Maya

Belize

Roatan,

I am looking for the ones that have the POC name stamped on it -

They can be the metal or enamel with the butterfly backing

if anyone is able to assist in giving me some info of what companies / Individuals to contact or if anyone has extra they are willing to sell, it would be greatly appreciated.

i have searched ebay and google and always come up empty handed.

Well I don't leave for 563 days.....but I'm heading to Costa Maya, Belize, and Roatan and wouldn't mind looking for pins for you if you haven't found them before hand! :p Only another year and a half to wait! LOL

I also collect POC pins. I have them on a pin board in my office.

That way I can look at them and think about all the places I

have been.

You may want to try this.

You can super glue the pin back onto the pin, that way it

want come off.

Also, you can go to the roll call section of this board and ask if someone

would mind picking you up a pin.

I made two pin "quilts" by using a muslin center and borders of fabric with suitcases on them. I machine quilted the center with a low loft batting and have the now two pin quilts hanging in my sewing room. They get heavy!

The ships used to have their own individual pins but I have not found those for the last four or five cruises!

I for one... # 1 priority at each port~~!!~~

I'm sorry I don't have any extra of the ports you need..

Just a suggestion, however I did receive a few missing pins. I emailed the tourist commissions in each of the cities, and explained I collect pins of the various POC's when CRUISING !!, and have lost their town..... Since most of the tourist commissions depend heavily on cruise passengers, I was able to receive some. I offered to pay for the pins & postage, but all said "free gratis", and sent a bunch of promo material on their island ( still on a couple of mailing list after almost 10 years)...

GOOD LUCK ~~!!~~85.gif

I COLLECT too!! we are always LOOKING for them in the POC and then if we do anything special...just stuff to remind us...we havent done anything with them yet...one day...if we cant find a pin we do a keychain or magnet and make it a pin...we started to collect pins 21 years ago from our trips, and things we like just about anytype...we have quite the collection....

thats a GOOD idea of writing and asking for them...i use to know a company that made quite a bit of them years ago, but no longer have the information....GOOD LUCK...if you come up with nothing i am leaving in january for belize, roatan, costa maya:)

We Do, We Do

Love to find pins from every city & event we visit, locally made one's if possible or at least designed locally. After a while you notice the same design with a different city names. No matter where you go, most seem to be made in China.

The Coolest so far is from Anchorage Alaska Fur Rondy, its made from a Moose Antler http://www.furrondy.net

Contact the chambers of commerce or travel bureau for each location or try Ebay.

We like to display ours (poked thru for security) on painting canvas’s covered with faux-brushed tan leather. Nice and stiff, able to hold the weight & easy to mount on the wall for display
