Jospen Posted September 9, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted September 9, 2009 Do you mean the dry packs or the muesli which is already made up? the muesli which is already made up. If it's Alpen then it tastes very different here.
glitterbabe Posted September 9, 2009 #6 Share Posted September 9, 2009 On the ship it is labelled as "Belcher Museli". I have friends on the ship at the moment, I will try and contact them to ask the question. Failing that I am on her in 4 weeks so will do the deed myself!! glitterbabe Posted September 10, 2009 #8 Share Posted September 10, 2009 Its actually called "Bircher Muesli" and consists of porridge oats, sultanas, apple, lemon juice, honey, nuts, dessicated coconut and natural yogurt. I have found a recipe on Waitrose.com if you want to have a look, seems to be something that may need to be prepared the night before, but will keep for a few days in the fridge. Hope it goes well - happy cooking!!

glitterbabe Posted September 17, 2009 #11 Share Posted September 17, 2009 Got some "soaking" at the moment, ready for the morning. Watch this space for the verdict!!!
glitterbabe Posted September 18, 2009 #12 Share Posted September 18, 2009 Mmm..not bad I must say. Needed to thin it down a bit this morning as the oats had obviously swelled overnight, but i added some natural yogurt (although the recipe does say milk to thin it down) and it made the consistency quite creamy but not too sweet.
