Transportation cost and time for Star

We will be arriving in LA the night before our cruise and staying at a hotel near LAX and there will be 3 of us. Is the most economical way to get to the pier in San Pedro just be a cab? It sounds like a shuttle would cost more for 3.

 

Also, we have a noon flight returning. Will we have to rush to get off the ship to make a noon flight and are taxi's readily available?
