I am sure you all get really tired of people asking these passport questions but I am going on a 5 day cruise that leaves out of galveston tx and will end up back in galveston tx. It is to my understanding that if I bring my drivers license and my birth certificate I will be fine correct? I have just been getting really confused!! HELP!!.. also please don't refer me to the Carnival website for advise.. ha thanks:o

You do not need a passport for the cruise itself. If you have an emergency and need to fly home, you need a passport. The cruise industry got an exception to the passport rule as long as you leave a US port and return to the exact same port. That info is found on the US govt website regarding passport requirements for the Western Hemisphere. Google to find it.
