Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Airport and Cruiseport Hotel

Our travel agent is suggesting this hotel as a package with our Northwest flight. I can't seem to find out any information from their site - I would like to know if it's within walking distance of some shopping (translation: Liquor Store!) :)

 

From the map, it looks like there's nothing nearby.

 

And, I'm a little unhappy about the fact that they charge for the shuttle, it's only $6.00 a person, but seriously - we're not paying enough for the room???

 

Anyway, if anyone has any information I would appreciate the help.

You are right, there is nothing there to walk to. I would suggest booking a hotel on your own on 17th St. There is lots of information here to guide you.

That's a miserable area to stay in on vacation, it's an airport hotel in the middle of nowhere... The best place to stay is along SE17th Street or along Ft Lauderdale Beach... And don't worry about shuttles, they're more hassle than they're worth. Either of those locations are close to both the airport and port, taxis are cheap and plentiful.

We stayed here post cruise in January as we had an early flight. As others have mentioned there is nothing in walking distance. A Hilton is across the street but that's it.

It's a nice hotel but if you want to shop, go elsewhere
