dabear Posted February 3, 2010 #26 Share Posted February 3, 2010 did NCL change the payoffs in craps? How many times odds can you take behind the line?
Pszaffveauhraunne Posted February 3, 2010 #27 Share Posted February 3, 2010 I know people tend to hate these, but, unless you are a card counter, it really does not matter, right? Okay, maybe some people like to watch the guy shuffle. The game tends to go faster with a machine since there are no built in breaks while the dealer shuffles. Thus, you'll generally spend more money over the same length of time, since the casino is dealing more hands per hour.

ParrothdJH Posted February 3, 2010 #29 Share Posted February 3, 2010 Spent two weeks on the Jade this summer. I was looking forward to playing blackjack every night in the casino on our trip. What a rude surprise to find NCL casinos have decided to screw their customers by changing the rules even more in their favor by only paying 6-5 on blackjacks. Asked the casino manager when they changed those rules and they told me it was last August. Granted, they will say that those rules are only on $5 tables, but I was still in the casino every night playing craps or poker and I looked regularly for BJ tables that were not $5 tables. Occasionally there would be $50 tables off in the corner with no one at them. I never played BJ that cruise. Not sure if this change was made fleetwide or only in Europe. Buyer beware. Just returned from Pearl. they had one $25 minimum table with 3-2 payout, dealer hit soft 17, one $50 minimum with 3-2 payout ,dealer stood on soft 17, one $25 minimum 2 deck pitch, 6-5 not sure on soft 17 because i never played there because of the 6-5. huge casino, most tables full every night, except the $25 and $50 tables which were only crowded late at night. I play Vegas, Tahoe, Biloxi, Atlantic City, Foxwoods, Tunica, Indiana,Etc and most of them have gone to 6-5 on lower limit shoe and all pitch games. Might as well get used to it. As for craps, some have gone to "for one", instead of "to one" on center bets, big difference.
dabear Posted February 3, 2010 #30 Share Posted February 3, 2010 Parrothdth: Please explain your craps comment of for 1 vs to 1 for center line bets. Also has NCL done this?. I was at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Ind (a Harrahs Casino) and did not notice any change at the crap table.

I was at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Ind (a Harrahs Casino) and did not notice any change at the crap table. just an example,,yo eleven bet.. "for one" means you get $15 and they keep the $1 bet (15 for 1). "to one" means you get $15 and your $1 bet back(15 to 1). On hard 10s I got $700 and $100 bet stayed up instead of getting $800 and $100 bet staying up on the Pearl. This is becoming more and more common. look at the layout and try to find one that pays of "to one". hope this clears it up

ParrothdJH Posted February 3, 2010 #33 Share Posted February 3, 2010 Dose any one know what the rules are for on the sky? And if they have any one or shoe games? With NCL's CASINOS AT SEA program, I 'm pretty sure rules, odds, etc are uniform on all ships.
GamecockAl Posted February 8, 2010 #34 Share Posted February 8, 2010 Someone posted that many LV casinos had gone to 6-5 payoff on BJ. Actually this is only in Harrahs casinos and only on the lower limit tables. Harrahs Total Rewards program has a tie in with NCL and I'm sure that is why you are seeing the rule changes. I play and stay almost exclusively at Harrahs properties but also am a poker player so rarely play BJ and, when I do, I pay high enough stakes that they don't use the 6-5 payoff rule.
