Do I have a problem with my docs?

Recommended Posts

Got docs today - yippee! I looked at my son's name and it has his first name listed as his legal name and his middle initital with a space in between them. Then it lists his middle name as his middle name. Ex: John D then Middle Name: David

Will this cause a problem when his passport only says John David (and his last name)?

My name is mispelled on my cruise doc's entry into the RCCL pre board information. I also wonder if my first name being spelled slightly incorrectly will matter during embarking check-in.?

Call your TA or RCCL and have them correct the info on their records.

As long as it's listed correctly on the ship's manifest, you're fine. There are many instances of a name being one letter off, and it's not usually a problem. They just look at it as a typo.

Folgy - do you mean they spelled your name Pholgie? That could be a problem.

Okay - so call my TA or the cruise line. Is one better to call than the other? And is there going tobe some kind of charge? Also, can I print out RCI's online embarkation page in lieu of the clearance form in the doc. booklet? This way the embarkation page would match the passport. Thanks for your help!

I believe the cruise document has a statement about the name being different with a number to call. There is no charge for this as someone basically did a typo. You could get the TA to do it as that is what they get paid for and the name may be wrong on their records which could give the same result when booking a future cruise.
