Hi Matt,

Solid Rail. I noticed the same on the interior rail on deck 14.

Me thinks you and I spend too much time looking at cruise ships :)

Cheers

hi clive,

lol true no it was for the model of pj and i was working out why are they are not any railings on deck 10 for the pj but there are for p/d..the p/j was built first then the p/d second so they must have changed it for the regal princess now p/d

I noticed that too ;).

I'm a sad case. I have been comparing the differences between the ships for ages now.

In the showlounge they have extra seating in front of the stage .

There are no spas at the back of the ship :(.

That's all I can think of at the moment but there are more that I noticed ;).

Hi,

Knowing the difference in external appearance (Deck 10 balconies), it's easy to spot that all the P&O promo shots of Pacific Jewel are actually doctored photos of Pacific Dawn.

Cheers

One of the exterior differences I noticed was on the port side of OV2, under the big windows of the 'dome' there are another row of big windows, for the lower level of the spa area - on Dawn, these are the smaller windows of the officer's cabins.

I hadn't noticed that the balconies have a solid rail.... but yes, I've spent a lot of time comparing them too :)

hi,

were the captains cabin is now deck 11 on the p/d on the p/j it is the club lounge.just right under the bridge.and port side just under the dome you will find 7 large windows like the dome on deck 14 that is were the officers cabins are on the p/d deck 11, same area is the karma sauna and steam zone on the p/j.the buffet area is different and pool area as we don't have photos of that area we will wait.

Hmmm don't like the closed in look of the balcony.

So glad they decided to swap the Jewel and Dawn around. They did it because in a survey it was noted that Sydney sailors liked the gym facilities whereas Brisbane sailors liked more entertainment areas.

Pacific Dawn's gym is in the bowels of the ship whereas the Jewel's has a gym with a view.

I wonder how much better it will be with the kids club up top instead of the middle. I see that there is an enclosed pool for them up there as well! We never took our 4 year old on the top decks, too scary!
