Long Bay Resort?

I haven't seen anything here about Long Bay. I hear it is beautiful but would you go there on a day trip from a cruise ship? We have two small children who are too young for the baths. We want to have a nice beach experience without "roughing it". Meaning no beach chairs or amenities on the public beaches. Has anyone done a day pass there? Are they available? Any comments or suggestions for us and our kids would be appreciated.
