vikqueen Posted November 11, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2009 I'm looking for a one night, pre-cruise on the beach stay at either the Marriott Courtyard on Isla verde or Marriott Resort and casino on Condado, which is a better location for a beach stay with teens? I plan on staying in Old San Juan post-cruise so I am really not worried about being able to be close to other activities other than a relaxing night at the hotel. Geocat Posted November 12, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 12, 2009 We stayed at the Courtyard Isla Verde 2yrs ago which I booked on Priceline for $107 per night. We thought it was really nice. This hotel is the last one on Isla Verde. It has a really beautiful beach. We stayed once in Condado at the Comfort Inn which we booked right through the hotel & paid $110 per night and it was a total dump. No camparison to the Courtyard Isla Verde. The Courtyard is close to the airport and you can see the planes flying and you can hear them. We didn't hear them inside and outside it didn't bother us. They have a small casino, outdoor and indoor restaraunt and nice bar area that had a lot of people dancing. The rooms were the nice and each room does have a beach view with a small balcony. We were really satisfied and would stay there again.
panamatiger Posted November 12, 2009 #3 Share Posted November 12, 2009 We stayed at El Canario by the Sea next to the Marriott on Condado Beach for 1/2 to 1/3rd the price. The rooms are smaller but it's the same beach and all beaches in PR are free. We are doing the same hotel pre and post cruise in April 2010. vikqueen Posted November 13, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted November 13, 2009 Thank you for your replies. Geocat, did you eat at the hotel restaurants? Would you recommend them? Is there a nearby Walgreens or a liquor store? Thank you again for your help. Thank you for the info on El Canario, too. I am worried that the water on Condado will be to rough for my kids to swim in, did you find it okay?
sealeggs Posted November 13, 2009 #5 Share Posted November 13, 2009 We have stayed 2 times in Isla Verde area at the Embassy Suites. Can't beat the free buffet breakfast and 2 hour manager cocktail party. We love sailing out of San Juan.
