? about NY port

i am leaving on the NCL Dawn in May out of NY and i was wondering where is the port? I live in Jersey and am going with some friends of mine from college so we want to take the train into Penn station. is that a good idea? thanks!!

Don't know which port you'll be in, but they're all on the west side.

 

Sure, take the train to Penn Station and then just take a taxi to the port from there. Any of their piers will be less than a $10.00 taxi ride. Easy!

thanks jane!! yeah i guess i'll find out the port number and stuff when it gets closer...i'm scaring my friends with my obsession with this cruise..haha

There is a schedule of ship usage on http://www.nypst.com which shows all ship berths eventually (May's are not yet posted, but you could keep checking as it gets closer). I think I have also read about some people parking on the New Jersey side and taking a ferry which gets them fairly close to the pier area.
